The Hill

[Aerial photograph of campus] The portion of the University of Tennessee shown in this aerial photograph is called "The Hill." The Tennessee River, which forms Fort Loudon Lake near Knoxville, lies in the background. These buildings house most of the science departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Geography, Mathematics, and Physics. The prominent building in the foreground is Ayers Hall, a famous Knoxville landmark. A new Science and Engineering Research Facility was built after this photo was taken.
