Welcome to Britain's Rocky Past - an animation and interactive timeline featuring 4600 million years of dramatic continental drift, fossil life and rocks.

The opening of the Atlantic Ocean

Click here to download drifting.exe (266k).

Save drifting.exe to a temporary directory and run it to create the program
slidshow.exe, together with a number of image files. Running slidshow.exe will
animate the opening of the Atlantic Ocean at intervals of 20 million years.
